Additional Lounge Against the Machine Information

On Lounge Against the Machine, alt-rock hits get the Vegas treatment way before their time. Vocalist Richard Cheese and his piano trio really know how to warp a song. Rage Against the Machine's "Guerilla Radio" sounds smooth as silk, if incredibly schmaltzy, in the hands of this wayward lounge act. The Dead Kennedys' "Holiday in Cambodia" gets completely defanged in Cheese's rendition. And it's definitely strange to hear the rage drained out of Nirvana's "Rape Me" and replaced with bland, mindless enthusiasm. The tone of these covers is so far removed from the originals that at times you forget what you're really listening to. At moments like these, Cheese and the boys sound like some anonymous combo going through the motions. But then you'll hear the singer let loose with some foul language or croon a harsh line and it sounds downright strange and funny. Lounge Against the Machine can be tiresome at times, but it certainly takes the piss out of these songs. --Fred Cisterna

What Customers Say About Lounge Against the Machine:

You have to love Richard Cheese and the gang. Great tunes, made for a great gift.

Lounge Against The Machine is an instant classic. He is truly the voice of a generation. That should come as no surprise given the vocal stylings of Mr. Richard Cheese. To take the selected songs and perform them in the lounge-style is fantastic. This is a must have for any CD collection.

Richard Cheese does *NOT* own the rights or royalties to this album. but if you believe in supporting artists buy his other albums instead, since if you buy this he won't see a dime. The record company that produced it (Oglio Records) ripped him off. This CD IS great. His 'best of' album, Sunny Side of the Moon, has several songs from this album. I highly recommend it.

Thats the point though, Its supposed to be a cover of the original in lounge style. This one has some of my favorites done in that laid back way. You could play this at cocktail parties and no one would notice that its lyrics to hard core rock. Enjoy

Comical twist on songs that you know well. There is some strong language and four letter words that occured in the original form, you can just understand it more clearly in this version.
